“Imagine what it could look like if we recognized and acted upon the potential of all children.”

–JACKIE BEZOS

Jackie Bezos

Founder, Champion of Young People

1946-2025

Jackie believed every child is born with incredible potential, and that it is our shared responsibility to help that potential flourish.

As co-founder of the Bezos Family Foundation, she brought deep curiosity about science, reimagined what was possible, and uplifted young people, families, and educators.

She was guided by her belief that every young person—from before birth through adolescence—should have the support they need to succeed.

Growing a Foundation Anchored in New Possibilities

Jackie’s experiences as a mother and lifelong learner shaped some of her most important work: founding the Bezos Family Foundation with her husband, Mike, more than 20 years ago.

She was deeply committed to advancing early learning and understanding how children’s brains develop, work that shaped how the Foundation approaches learning from birth through adolescence. She believed children and youth are powerful changemakers and worked to create opportunities for them to learn, lead, and contribute at every stage.

Jackie also brought tremendous energy and focus to building the Foundation’s in-house programs. Through Vroom, Bezos Scholars Program, and Students Rebuild, she helped connect science to everyday practice and expand opportunity.

These efforts have reached millions of children, youth, and families across the U.S. and around the world, offering tools, experiences, and support to help shape their futures and strengthen their communities.

Today, the Foundation continues to carry forward the values, energy, and a sense of possibility that defined her life.

Jackie believed in getting close to the work, bringing curiosity and care to every interaction as she learned alongside children, families, and partners.

When the Aspen Ideas Festival first convened global leaders to discuss pressing issues, Jackie helped create the Bezos Scholars Program to bring high school students into the conversation.

“Together, we can change the trajectory of an entire generation. We are not just building brains—we are building the future. Each of us has a role to play, and it will take all of us to really make a difference.”
