Youth Leadership and Global Engagement
Young people are moments away from inheriting complex social problems. Yet, too often we underestimate students’ ability to contribute to the dialogue shaping future solutions and overlook them as a source of innovative ideas.
We believe that if students are given the chance to test their leadership skills in local and global contexts – before early adulthood – their trajectory will offer more expansive possibilities. We see this happen with our own initiatives - the Bezos Scholars Program and Students Rebuild - as well as other programs and offerings tailored to young leaders.
Our aim is to close the aspiration gap. We support young, motivated leaders by providing opportunities that expand their awareness of global issues and fundamentally alter their perception of what they believe they are capable of. We look for avenues for youth to come together around collective calls to action, and to meaningfully contribute ideas and solutions for our most pressing social challenges.
