Half the Sky Movement

Partner 2012-2014

 

Raises awareness about women’s education, health, protection and economic issues and provides concrete steps to fight gender-based oppression.

 

Our partnership supports the Half the Sky Movement Campus Ambassadors program, which provides students with a blueprint for engagement on the six issues presented in the Half the Sky Movement documentary: gender-based violence, sex trafficking, forced prostitution, maternal mortality, education and economic empowerment. Our partnership also supports the Students Rebuild Award featuring Half the Sky Movement.

International Rescue Committee

Partner since 2015

 

Helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. IRC teams provide health care, infrastructure, learning and economic support to people in 40 countries, with special programs designed for women and children. 

 

The International Rescue Committee is a Students Rebuild Partner for the Healing Classrooms Challenge, which supports Syrian youth from conflict areas to recover from crisis and grow into happy, healthy adults.

Fosters empathy by breaking down barriers and shattering stereotypes through the exchange of stories across the world. Led by globally influential artists, educators, students and community advocates, N4 develops the next generation of empathetic leaders and citizens.

Save the Children

Partner since 2014

 

Facilitates philanthropic giving to children in need in over 120 countries and throughout rural America.

 

Save the Children is a Students Rebuild partner for the Typhoon Haiyan Challenge, Literacy Challenge, Flowers for Nepal Challenge, and Youth Uplift Challenge. Our Students Rebuild partnerships have supported Save the Children’s relief efforts following Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, Save the Children's Literacy Boost program, relief efforts following the 2015 Nepal earthquake,and Save's youth empowerment work in Nicaragua and Indonisia. 

School of Leadership Afghanistan (SOLA)

Partner since 2013

 

Furthers education and leadership opportunities for the next generation of Afghan women, imbuing them with a sense of service and commitment to their community in order to bring about a progressive and prosperous future.

 

Our partnership supports SOLA’s high school in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Fosters local entrepreneurship and elevates innovative social ventures in the Seattle area.

 

Our partnership supports the cultivation and promotion of education-related proposals at the annual Social Innovation Fast Pitch event.

Empowers young people to establish cooperative and compassionate relationships by combining the power of dialogue with the reach of new media.

 

Our initial partnership supported the Catalyzing Virtual Exchange initiative, an effort to dramatically scale up the opportunities for young people to make meaningful connections with one another across the world through technology-enabled virtual exchanges.   

Our current partnership supports the development of a Cross-Cultural Communication and Collaboration Skills tool at MIT's SaxeLab. This tool will be used to enhance and validate virtual exchange programs.  

Stevens Initiative

A multilateral public-private partnership designed to increase people-to-people exchange between youth in the United States and the Middle East and North Africa as a lasting tribute to the legacy of Ambassador Chris Stevens.

 

Our partnership supports the Stevens Initiative’s work to build the field of virtual exchange.

The Moxie Institute

Our partnership supports a series of five short films in the Let It Ripple series, highlighting the potential for collective impact and global connectivity. Our most recent partnership supported the development and implementation of Character Day.
